Setup guide

Your website, in your own account

Your site is set up in a free Cloudflare account that you own. You give us access by inviting our work email as a member. We never need your password, and this website never asks for tokens or keys.

The short version

  1. You create a free Cloudflare account (5 minutes).
  2. You invite our work email as a member of that account.
  3. We build and set up your website inside your account, and show you a preview at a free <name>.pages.dev address.
  4. You approve it (or ask for a revision round). If you want your own domain, the domain guide shows the steps.

Because everything is in your account, you keep the site and your accounts if you ever stop working with us. You can remove our access at any time (see below).

Step 1: create a free Cloudflare account

  1. Go to cloudflare.com and choose Sign up.
  2. Enter your email address and choose a password that only you know. Do not share it with anyone, including us.
  3. Open the email Cloudflare sends you and confirm your email address. A verified email is needed before you can invite members.
  4. You do not need a paid plan. The free plan is enough for the website we build.
  5. Tip: turn on two-step login for your account in your profile settings.

Step 2: invite our email as a member

Our work email address: We will send you the address after you order.

You only invite us after you have placed an order. If the address above is not shown yet, we email it to you after you order.

  1. Sign in to your Cloudflare dashboard and open the Members page (under account management).
  2. Select Invite members.
  3. Under Add email addresses, type our work email address.
  4. Under Add permission policies, create one policy: scope the entire account, role Administrator. Then select Create policy.
  5. Select Invite members.
  6. We get an email invitation. It shows as Pending on your Members page until we accept. If we cannot find it, use ... > Resend invite on that row.
About the Administrator role. Cloudflare describes it as: can access the full account and edit subscriptions, but cannot manage members or the billing profile. So we can set up your website project (and your domain's DNS if you ask), but we cannot add other people or change your billing profile.
Prefer to give less? You can choose the Workers Platform Admin role instead (it covers Workers, Pages and related products) and add the DNS role only if we need to edit DNS records. Tell us if you do this: some steps may then be yours to do.

Who can invite? Cloudflare says you need the Super Administrator role and a verified email address to manage members. If you created the account yourself, that is normally you.

What we never ask for

If anyone asks you for these in our name, do not send them, and tell us.

You stay in control. To end our access at any time: Members page > the ... on our row > Remove member > confirm. This also cancels a pending invitation.

Step 3: your domain (optional)

A domain is a name like yourbusiness.com. It is optional: your site works at a free <name>.pages.dev address, and you can add a domain later. You buy a domain yourself from a registrar (roughly $10-15 a year for common endings; it is not included in our price).
